Wines from Italy

Sassoregale

The region is home to rich flora and fauna, and the force of nature remains intact, offering an invaluable source of gastronomy and top-quality wines.

Maremma, a marsh for centuries and a natural refuge for numerous animal species, has always eluded agriculture. Even today, it appears distant and sometimes rugged, shaped by the explosive force of nature.

While the great reforms of the 20th century made thousands of hectares available, they failed to radically alter the natural environment. Its thick and often impenetrable scrub is still inhabited by wild boars, roe deer, and fallow deer, and horses remain a valuable means of transportation for venturing into its forests and traversing its coastal dunes.
